A range of other functions may be necessary or considered worthwhile for incorporation into the string design as a future contingency. Some of the more prevalent are discussed below; (a) Downhole tubing detachment - In the event of failure of the tubing string, it may be necessary to pull the completion from the well to effect replacement of completion components that are more prone to failure and require more frequent replacement; (b) Surface/Downhole Rotation – Swivel are utilized when maximum variability when orienting completion components is required; (c) Space Out – Completion tubing string requires fine adjustment between packers, wellheads or other completion equipment.
